RUF FRESHMAN FELLOWSHIP is here to be a community that's easy to slip into whether it's your first or tenth visit, connect with other freshmen, build deeper friendships, hear a thought-provoking message from Scripture, and share the ups and downs of the semester with people who care. Join us for dinner every Tuesday night at Bolton from 6:45-7:45p and then head over to Redeemer Church's "Firestone Room" (a one-minute drive from Bolton) for what will become one of your favorite hours of the week.
God’s word is meant to be read and applied in community… not in isolation. We need others to help us grow and connect the dots of God’s work in our lives. And so Community Groups are the relational and spiritual glue that hold us together. We’ve made it easy for you to become a part of one! Simply check out the list of groups offered this fall, find a group that meets at a time you’re free, and fill out the brief form. A leader will get in touch with you to offer a ride and share more details. And you’re always welcome to just show up, as well!
Join us for the semester kick off of RUF at UGA large group! Hear from our Campus Minister, Ben Coppedge, as we begin a new series called “Collision Course: The Spirit’s Work in the World Today.” “Large Group” is what we call our weekly worship service—we sing, pray, hear a relevant message from Scripture, and fellowship. You can get a sneak peak at it and learn more here.
We have missed you this summer, and can’t wait to see you again! Whether you’re new to UGA/UNG or have been around for years, come join us on the North Campus Quad outside of the main library/law library. We’ll have free pizza, drinks, lawn games, music, and a true UGA Gameday experience to get you ready for the fall!
FRESHMEN: North campus quad is about a 5 minute walk from Sanford Stadium… come join us after the big “G” picture in the stadium!
Not sure where you’ll be going on the first day of class? Bring your schedule and meet some upperclassmen RUF students at the Arch! We’ll walk you to your buildings and help you get to know your way around campus. If you have questions about bus routes, which advisers are best, tips for certain professors, how to survive 8ams… then come prepared to ask away! We’ll meet AT THE UGA ARCH (downtown—any UGA bus line will take you here from the dorms) at 10:30a and will walk from there. We’ll grab lunch at Bulldog Cafe on campus afterwards.
Join us as we kick off this year’s Freshmen Fellowship meetings with a giant taco party at Redeemer’s Firestone Room along with drinks, games, music, and a room full of friendly faces eager to meet you. All incoming freshmen to UGA, UNG, and Athens Tech are invited. If you need a ride, we’d love to give you one. Just let us know!
As part of our “Welcome to Athens”, we want to share one of our local favorites with you for dinner. Come enjoy the evening with fellow freshmen at Ted’s Most Best downtown. We’ll meet at Redeemer Presbyterian Church (165 Pulaski St.) and walk over. Here’s a glance at their menu in case you’re interested: http://www.tedsmostbest.com/menu.html
Join us for a chill night playing board games, grabbing food, and getting to know other freshmen! We’re going to meet at Redeemer Presbyterian Church (165 Pulaski St.) and walk over to The Rook and Pawn—it’s about a block away. If you want to come after 7pm, just head straight over to The Rook and Pawn downtown.
Come join us on Wednesday evenings in June and July (except July 4th week) from 7-8pm at John David’s house in Pineview (285A Pineview Drive, Athens 30606). We’ll be going through selected chapters in Luke’s Gospel in a summer series called “Encounters with Jesus.”
If you’ve never experienced it before, Summer RUF is a beautiful thing! Laid-back, smaller-scale, and interactive… it’s a great time to plug more deeply into RUF and build relationships. If you’re transferring into UGA or UNG in the fall or are an incoming freshmen, it’s the best way to begin to get to know folks before the rush of August arrives.
See you there… first meeting is Wed, June 5th!
Invite your friends and come join RUF as we close out an amazing semester at Lake Herrick’s newly renovated lakeside pavilion and docks. We’ll have great food, music, dancing, games, and activities on the adjacent Intramural Fields. Free parking is right next to the lake in the IM Fields Parking Deck.
Our 2019 Spring Break Mission Trip will be an opportunity for us to give back to a city and a people who have given so much to us. About 25 students from UGA RUF will have the opportunity to join the churches of Panama City Beach as they reach their hurricane-devastated neighborhoods to bear the burdens of strangers and friends alike.
Come join us as we enjoy a weekend together in the mountains of Western, NC full of fellowship, the great outdoors, and excellent teaching on “Jesus and Your Job—Discovering Your Calling in His Kingdom.” Cost is $85 and covers your 5 meals, lodging, recreation and speaker fees. Scholarship help is there for the asking if money is an obstacle to you joining us!
<> UPDATE <> Registration is now closed, but if you’d like to be added to our waitlist please let us know!
